TALES FROM A TASTING

I didn’t pair the Nobile Di Montepulciano DOCG with anything other than a little Texan sunshine. I shared this “Noble” wine poolside during a recent visit to the Lone Star State.

Red wine and food are seemingly a requirement when sampling a new bottle of vino. But, if you love wine, sometimes just appreciating the wine itself is enough.

Montepulciano, a Tuscan city, that sits high on a hillside is renowned for it’s food and wine. Just like the stunning architecture and panoramic views of the Tuscan landscape seen from Montepulciano’s bird’s eye view, the Nobile Di Montepulciano is impressive.

I found this wine to be hearty and relaxing. Pairing it with the sun’s ray’s was the way to go.

Despite enjoying this Tuscan wine without a meal, I should say there are countless dishes with which I would want to sip this pleasant red wine. I’ll definitely head back to Post Road Liquors to buy another bottle or two.

In the fall, I always make a 30 pound lasagna with a red sauce. I freeze a good portion to consume over the next few months.

I’m now convinced the Nobile Di Montepulciano will marry perfectly with my meat lasagna.

And, if I run out of lasagna, I’ll pull out a heat lamp, pour a glass, and pretend I’m back in that gorgeous sunshine.
