We are a couple of true New Englanders! Part of that New England spirit is appreciating *and* complaining about the seasonal weather. Come on, we all love flip-flop weather, be we also revel in bemoaning (as we sip our coffee coolatta) about the heat.

But really, we do love the change of seasons. After all, what better way to gain a new perspective than a simple change in the wind from our friend mother nature? Plus, a change in the weather means a change in our clothes!

This spring, we’re happy to see a lot of the same trends, giving longer life to last year’s wardrobe.

But there are a few changes. Now that these trends have been accepted into our closets, they are starting to flourish and develop on the runways and in stores.

Lace, cut-outs, and ruffles are becoming bolder and honestly, more beautiful! We’ll be sure to cover more of the trends as we move into the springtime. But, for now, we have a quick review of some of our favorites. And, to make it a little more fun, we’ve added high and low options.

Floral Shoulder Baring Maxi

Flowing, ethereal, and feminine, this gorgeous trend combines the Victorian look with a bo-ho vibe. Perfect for a warm evening soiree, these floral print dresses are the perfect look when aiming for a lady-like vibe.

On the left, coming in at $650.00 is a lovely Veronica Beard dress. Yes, it is a luscious silk. But, on the right, it's hard to turn down a very similar dress by Buffalo for only $70.00.

Talk about romance! The Allesandra Rich dress on the left embodies this trend to perfection. We may be in love and if you wear this dress, someone might even fall in love with you! But, we think you can find love for less than $2235.00. In fact, at Nordstroms, we found this pretty little blue number on the right for only $55.00. Much more manageable. ;)

Body Suits

Sick of your shirts coming un-tucked? Well, the fashion architects have an answer, and it one that has transcended from previous decades. Bodysuits are back baby! And boy, are we excited. They come in all shapes and sizes. But, if you’re going to invest in one, go basic. These black bodysuits will carry you all the way through next fall under blazers and cardigans.

On the left, for a mere $64.00, we have the low option from Splendid. On the right, for a ridiculous $445 is a practically identical body suit from SPRWMN. Please don't spend your budget on these basic items! Save it for the more spectacular and unique pieces.

Updated LBD

There are so many ways to update the LBD this season. From chiffon ruffles to lace, any fabric will do. The most important detail (pay attention, this one is reoccurring) – shoulders, shoulders, shoulders!

Our "lust" style is on the left this time. Flowing and delicate the Kobi Halerpin dress is a stunner. But, it's also $1195.00. Haute, but a little to hot for our wallets. with the Bardot dress on the right, you can stay as cool as a cucumber when you peel open your credit card statements. At $119.00 the pretty little dress gives you the trend for a fraction of the cost.
