We agree with Kate, we’re 40+ years old and are still playing dress up! Part of what makes fashion so fun is the chance to be creative! We first discovered the door to our fashion creativity while checking ourselves out in oversized clothes in our mother’s dressing mirror. Playing dress-up is fun, and we have no plans to stop!
No game of dress up would be complete without a healthy dose of accessories. 5. Delicate Layered Necklaces
The fall isn’t just for layering clothes, how about trying necklaces too? And while we dig a chunky layer, this fall, think delicate chains and stones to frame the decollate and highlight your collarbone. 4. The Beret
Oo0-lah-lah! The French know fashion from head-to-toe! The beret is a classic, and we’re so glad to see it back on top! Get it, on top? On top of your head? Okay, bad jokes aside, the beret is top notch in our fashion list! Sorry…
But seriously, the beret is a fall staple item! It’s really never gone out of style for those who wear fashion with confidence. For those of you who are a little less daring, just know that it is totally cool to keep your noggin warm with one of these adorable pancake-shaped hats!

3. Fuzzy Jackets
Need a hug? Just zip up one of these fuzzy jackets and someone is bound to wrap their arms around you! The fuzzy jacket trend is not only cute but really cuddly. Hey, feel free even to give yourself a hug! We love the bomber at Intermix. But, if you’d like to save your dollar bills, there are lots of options on a budget! 2. Sparkly Boots
We and a few friends of ours have been oggling these slouchy Swarovksi crystal Saint Laurent boots ever since they stomped down the fall 2017 runway. But, at $10k, all we can do is stare and dream. Plus, with only 80 pairs in the US, who wants to get into an old-fashioned Tickle-Me-Elmo fight over a pair of boots? Not us!
Anyhow, don’t worry! The rest of the fashion world has caught onto the sparkly boot trend and there are plenty of other options to make you look like a bad-ass version of Cinderella.

1. Anything Red or Burgandy
All shades of red for any accessory this fall season! Grab a candy apple red beret or a maroon fuzzy jacket, and then pour yourself a big glass of Burgandy red wine! 😉 The bright and warm hues remind us of the pretty fall leaves we will soon see all over our landscapes! But, don’t worry, we’re not rushing it just yet. We’re planning to milk every minute out of this last week of summer. And then… onto the boots and sweaters!
