We cannot hide from it – breast cancer is an insidious and omnipresent disease. All of us know someone who has been affected. And that is why the fight is so important; we’re all part of it. On June 8th, 2015, Join the Ellie Fund in this fight at the annual Kelley for Ellie event.
In 2006, WCVB Reporter, Kelley Tuthill, received a Stage 3, Level 3 diagnosis. Rather than backing quietly into many different phases of difficult treatments, Kelley took the fight to the center ring by documenting her surgery and subsequent regimens through a series of video diaries, helping both patients and families gain courage in their own battles with the disease.
Nine years later, Kelley Tuthill is still a major inspiration. Healthy and expecting her third child in August, Kelley will once again be honored by the Ellie Fund at the annual Kelley for Ellie Event.
Presented by The Slater Foundation, former WCVB News Anchor, the amazing Susan Wornick, hosts the event, as the women of WCVB model fashions by Neiman Marcus Boston. Proceeds go to the Ellie Fund, which helps breast cancer patients by easing their every day burdens, so they can focus on recovery and quality time with their families.
For all of you social butterflies this is definitely a HAUTE event! Tickets sell out fast; so, be sure to grab one soon! Besides gaining access to a fun party, where wine will overflow and hors d’oeuvres abound, you will be contributing to a fund that helps women in their fight against breast cancer. And really, that could be any one of us, a family member, or a best friend. This is all of our fight.
