TASTING NOTES – 2014 is a classic cool year in Chianti Classico, with fresh fruits and a driving acidity throughout the length of the wine. The nose is expressive dominated by crushed lavender and roses with earthy tones of cypress. The firm tannin structure is driven by powerful and rich fruit flavors of black cherry, ripe figs and tart currants. Bright acidity carries the finish of white pepper, lime stone minerality and orange peel. Decant for one hour before enjoying with family, friends and food like steak Florentine, osso buco and chicken cacciatore.

I take a lot of selfies with wine to get the right photo. It’s actually ridiculous. Like, really, really ridiculous. I’m pretty sure my family thinks I have gone batty. And, if you ever got ahold of my phone – boy, do I look like I must be a wine weirdo. But, that’s just the way it is with finding the right photo.

With Chianti, it’s a little bit easier, especially if it’s a Chianti Classico. Italy puts a basket on every table for a bottle of Chianti for a reason – they’ve mastered making this beautiful blend so that it is very drinkable!

The 2015 Tenuta di Arceno Chianti Classico, is no different. Peppery with light tannins, this wine will hold up against most dishes. I recommend you head in and get a bottle to open it up for your next family dinner. But wait, first, take a selfie.;)
