TASTING NOTES – A Forward wine that is dominated by red fruit with a spicy, earthy character in its cherry finish.

TALES FROM A TASTING

Without even opening this bottle of wine, I internalized the heavy French vibe that comes from the tradition of and process of becoming a Gran Cru, the top-ranked burgandy wine. So classic and refined, so I poised myself like Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. Calm, cool, and collected, I planned to breathe in the wine and internalize the French je ne sais quoi. Sort of like this…

But, after tasting the wine, I felt a bit more like this…

Cherry burst onto my tongue with a welcomed gentle cover of tannins. This wine is delightful! I highly recommend letting it breathe in the glass. For the price point, this was an excellent value for a Bordeaux.

Because this wine was fun and not stuffy, I paired it with something a little unusual, but that ended up being a spectacular match – Beef Barbacoa tacos made in an Instant Pot.
